Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Songwriting Contest

If you will be in the Nashville area on Saturday, March 24th, definitely check out the 4th annual Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival. In 1912, the Mayor of Tokyo presented 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, D.C.  This year (2012) marks the 100th anniversary. In celebration, there is a Cherry Blossom Songwriting Contest underway with a $3000 Grand Prize! The deadline for submissions is January 15th, 2012. For more details, visit the Nashville Arts Magazine website or read the information below.

Of course, the Music City chapter of JETAA in Nashville will be helping out at the Cherry Blossom Festival. JETAA MC will be sharing a booth with the Japanese Consulate at which Music City JET alums will give presentations on their experiences as JETs in Japan. Email [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering at the booth or just stop by to say hello when you bring your family and friends to this free event!
