The Japan Exchange and Teaching Alumni Association – Washington, D.C. (JETAADC) serves the greater Washington D.C. metro area, as well as Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia.  JETAADC has active sub-chapters in Richmond, VA, Charlottesville, VA and Baltimore, MD.

The goal of JETAADC is to engage former JET Program participants and the local Japanese community culturally, socially, and professionally.  Events include monthly Networking Nights connecting recently returned JETAADC members with more established professionals in the Washington, D.C. area, as well as semi-regular volunteer events allowing JETAADC members to give back to Washington, D.C and the greater community.  In recent years, JETAADC has been developing its cultural programming by organizing a photo exhibit, “Japan Through Our Eyes,” and a weekend of Japanese films at the Freer Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution.
