Around Denver

We’re so glad you can come! Denver is known as the Mile High City and sits at 5280 feet above sea level. Downtown Denver has much to offer and if you plan on extending your visit, you may find this website helpful: What to do in Denver.

If you intend on spending extra time in Denver, you can utilize our public transportation system (RTD). Denver has both the RTD light rail system as well as the RTD bus system which is more extensive than the light rail.

The RTD SkyRide will get you from the airport to downtown Denver ($11 one way, $20 round trip- exact change only), and will take about 1 hour. Taxis are also available (about $50) and will take approximately 30 minutes.

Colorado is also known for its great beers. With over 150 breweries in this great state (that’s not counting the thousands of home-brewers), there is no better place for a beer connoisseur. There are several beer tour companies which will bus you around, or you can put your own tour together. Beer Drinker’s Guide to Colorado is a great website for planning your tour or choosing your  beers. Remember to appoint a DD. At this altitude, the party can start a bit earlier than expected!

If you want to take advantage of the Rocky Mountain snow, there are a plethora of great ski resorts within a couple hours of Denver. There are ski shuttles that many resorts run as well as independent ski shuttles that will pick you up and take you to your resort/ hotel.
