When is the 2019 National Conference?
This years conference will start September 26th with an informal Happy Hour hosted by USJETAA. The Conference will official start Friday September 27th at 9am in the conference room. The conference will official end on Sunday September 29th at 12pm.
Where is NatCon being held?
The 2019 NatCon will be hosted by JETAA Chicago at the Inn of Chicago

What does NatCon mean?
National Conference! We used this abbreviated term to quick reference the event. NatCon is an annual event hosted in the city of one of the 19 JETAA USA chapters. It is lead by JETAA USA, USJETAA and the local chapter to discuss current issues and discuss future plans for the JET Program and the alumni associations.
Do I need to contact the hotel and book a room for NatCon?
NO, all delegates hotels rooms are reserved under one master contract. Your room as been reserved for Thursday 9/26 and check out Sunday 9/29. If you need to stay at the hotel longer than these dates please contact [email protected]. Your local chapter budget does not pay for your stay in the hotel at NatCon. Your chapter budget only pays for your flight and ground transportation.
Can I choose my roommate?
No, unless there are extreme circumstances. We like to mix up delegates to have another chance to make more connections throughout the conference. All rooms will be separated by gender
What do I wear to NatCon?
NatCon meetings from 9am to 5pm is business causal, please do not wear jeans or shorts.
Reception on Friday evening hosted by the Consul General is business causal. Please keep in mind that there will be many people apart of the Japanese American community, government officials and esteemed guests at this reception. There will be time between the end of NatCon meetings before departing to this reception
Reception on Saturday is Casual
Nijikai activities are causal attire
What is the Delegate Sock Exchange and do I have to participate?
Participation is voluntary but it is a NatCon tradition to exchange an item with another delegate in hopes to keep the conversation going after NatCon. Instructions for the sock exchange and omiyage from your local region can be found here
