Hello JETAA USA!
Thank you so much for electing me to the position of Country Rep. I am excited to start this next chapter in my JETAA “career” – working to support JETAA USA as a whole and interfacing with JETAA International. As most of you know, I spent the past four years on the Executive Committee of JETAANY, spending one year as Vice President and three years as President. During that time the New York chapter also had the privilege of hosting the National Conference in our wonderful city. It was a great learning experience and has really prepared me for the work that lies ahead.
A new challenge that we are facing this year is the ongoing fundraising effort for Japan Earthquake relief. I feel that I am well poised to help move this initiative forward, having run my own non-profit for the past 6 years where I helped raise over $65,000 for children in Africa. I look forward to collaborating with all of you to bring relief where it is needed most, and to demonstrate the value of our network as well as our collective, heartfelt concern for the people of Japan.
In my spare time, I work for Swiss Re, a financial services company based in Switzerland. I’m married to my fantastic husband Il Sun and living in Long Island City, NY. Feel free to come do a tatami timeshare on your travels to NYC! I’ll be reaching out to the chapters I am supporting in the coming weeks.
